Patrick McInerney was born in California in 1967 and studied architecture first in California and then in London where he lived and trained for over 17 years from 1990-2007.
Patrick McInerney attended the Architectural Association School of Architecture and worked with David Chipperfield Architects. A senior associate at David Chipperfield Architects he led a team of over twenty designers and architects and was the lead architect for over 50 built projects and 15 competition entries. Of particular note was the Figge Art Museum, Davenport Iowa, Shore Club Hotel, South Beach, Bryant Park Hotel NYC and the Joseph Menswear Boutique, Sloane Avenue, London.
Patrick McInerney Architects was established in London in 2000. From 2000-2013 the office designed over 30 projects in Europe, Asia and the USA. Projects included residential commissions, a television studio, furniture, product design and competition entries.
The practice focuses on cultural, commercial and residential projects as well as furniture and product design. Most recently, built projects include three private houses in San Diego, the renovation of a 12th century villa outside Florence and a 60,000 sq ft multi-brand store in Shanghai as well as product ranges for Sonance and Trufig. The practice received the Wallpaper Magazine Best New Product Award in 2010 for the Trufig product range.
The practice continues to work on commissions and has developed a particular reputation for the design of residential work, retail design and architectural product design.
